Disaster Averted As Distressed Plane Lands In Lagos

An air disaster was on Saturday averted in Nigeria as a Qatar Airways plane in distress landed in Lagos. The flight, QR 592 was from Doha to Lagos. Street Journal gathered that as the plane took off in Doha, the pilot observed that the plane had low tyre pressure, a situation that made him call the Qatar Air ground crew to notify them. The authorities at the Lagos Airport were however oblivious of the situation of the aircraft until it entered Nigeria’s airspace.
Emergency services were put on standby in anticipation of any eventuality. The plane however landed safely after hovering for about 20 minutes. It was later towed towards the hanger.  Some of the passengers even disclosed that they didn’t know anything was wrong. “The landing was smooth”, one of the passengers said.
