More airports on the way.....


The Jigawa Government on Wednesday said it had awarded N6.9 billion contract for the Dutse International Airport.
Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim, the state Commissioner for Information, said made this known to newsmen at the end of the State Executive Council meeting in Dutse.
Ibrahim said the contract was awarded to two construction firms to handle various components of the project.
He said that Dantata and Sawoe were awarded N4.9 billion contract for the construction of the runway, adding that the project was expected to be completed within 10 months.
Ibrahim said that another contract for the construction of a terminal building and car park was awarded to CGC Nigeria Limited.
``Dantata and Sawoe got another contract for the construction of access road to the airport at the total cost of N600 million,” Ibrahim said.
The commissioner added that CGC was also given 12 months to complete the terminal building, while  Dantata and Sawoe had four months for the access road.
He said that the airport would be sited on the Dutse-Panisau Road. (NAN)
